Guyton is one of the fasted growing real estate markets in the greater Savannah area! Guyton’s small town feel, great school districts, and convenient access to 1-16 and 1-95 make it a popular place for families to call home. Just 25 miles north of Savannah, it is an easy commute for those working in the city. The picturesque Main Street and downtown area is surrounded by charming neighborhoods made up of predominantly single family homes.
Guyton Market Update
Home values have gone up 5.6% over the past year, and will continue to rise by 3.4% within the next year according to the top real estate experts. There are currently 134 active homes for sale in Guyton, with, 247 sold in the past six months. For the homes that have sold they experienced an average sale price of $199,000 with an average of $95.68 per square foot.
The town of Guyton was established in 1792, but did not receive the name of “Guyton” until the 1830s when the the town became an important stop on the Georgia Railroad. The name came from Archibald Guyton, a prominent local citizen in the area. Guyton was an affluent town by the time of the Civil War, when it fell victim to General T. Sherman and his troops during the March to the Sea. Today, the last Guyton family home can still be found in excellent condition just north of the Guyton city limits.
